Flaunting foliage

Alone in color

There always seems to be that one tree that does not want to shed its leaves.  This maple continues to flaunt its colors long after the others in the grove have dropped theirs.

The clouds in the blue sky look like smoke coming off this maple ablaze in fall foliage.

The remnants of this public telephone are a reminder that at one time, public payphones were ubiquitous throughout the city.

The rust patches add a little color to the grey barn boards and silver roofing tin.

The cracks in the paint are more noticeable when seen up close.

The windows on this former dairy barn provided light and air.  That they are mismatched never seemed to bother the cows.

 

Antisolar rays

Rays in the eastern sky

It took a triple take to be sure that these rays really were there in the eastern sky just after sunset.   They are called "anticrepuscular rays" and seem to come from the antisolar point.
