Dog paw prints, the pour date, more "something" impressions, a partially scratched in name, partial wipe-outs, other unidentified markings - this small concrete sidewalk slab is covered with them.  The bright green water utility cover ensures that this feat in the street beneath our feet catches the eye of the casual passer-by.

The remnants of a narrow gauge railway and switch have been left in place at an industrial site that no longer uses their light railway to move its heavy equipment between buildings.

The recent rainfall reveals the signature of a sidewalk signatory in the street beneath our feet: "PEANUt", with graffito below it.

The remnants of removed signposts remain in the cement circle seen in the sidewalk of the street beneath our feet.

 

Brick faces

Heavily pointed wall

Years of weather exposure and too diligent cleaning have worn down the faces of the bricks in this wall.

Encased in cement

Seen in the street beneath our feet, the iron that is encased within this cement sidewalk is leaching out as rust.

 Encased in concrete

 One wonders what is enrobed within the sidewalk to cause this?

Pour date

1973 vintage 

This one section of the sidewalk was poured in 1973.  No pour dates were provided for the two lower sections.  Judging from their wear and content, they pre-date 1973.  The filler patch appears to be the newest to have been poured.

Leafed behind

...last leaf fallen...

Some leaves, when they fall off their tree, hit the pavement so hard that they leave an imprint.  This red one was too light to do that.

Two rights and a left

C+E = ?

Are "C + E" still "+"?  Where are the two lefts and one right?  Questions permanently asked, but never answered  by the street beneath our feet.
