Double rainbow outside

A double rainbow is seen in this scene.  The secondary rainbow, seen outside the primary rainbow, is fainter but wider than the primary rainbow.  Its colors are reversed when compared to the order of colors in the primary rainbow.  The dark band between the two bows is called "Alexander's Band"; it is dark because the sunlight reflected by the raindrops in that area does not reach the viewer.  A supernumerary bow appears to be forming to the left of the primary bow, but does not form.

The recent rainfall reveals the signature of a sidewalk signatory in the street beneath our feet: "PEANUt", with graffito below it.

Colliding weather fronts create ominous clouds over the corn field; no rain fell.

After a rain storm, the rain water drains through the tiling.  The recessed middle of the drain cover retains the rainwater.  It is plain that the rain stays mainly on the drain.

This break in the clouds, with the sun and sky so bright after all the darkness and rain, was impressive.  Unfortunately, the camera's autofocus decided that the rain droplets on the glass were much more important.
