Red door (sunlit)

 

This red door at the back of the building is seldom seen.  This scene is of more interest than what is seen at the front of the building.

 

 

 

Frozen fog

 

one hundred millimeters high

A snow fall of frozen fog in still air left four inch "sugar piles" sticking to the tree branches.

 

Bare to the walls

 

Nothing left behind

With the closure of a store, the interior was gutted to the bare walls, leaving behind an empty storefront. 

 

Most of the items on the outside back wall were also removed. 

 

Red sign left behind

The red "Video Recording In Progress" sign was left behind, reminding the casual passerby that video recordings are in progress.

Is that an eye?

  

This "Time Warner Cable Of New York City" manhole cover was made the East Jordan Iron Works.  In 2016, Time Warner Cable was acquired by Charter Communications, which brands itself as "Spectrum".  Despite its re-branding, the parent company still has not made a complete logo consolidation of its acquisitions, leaving these relics in the street beneath our feet.

Perpendicular diamonds

This cast iron 15 x 15 cross diamond pattern utility cover is seen in the street beneath our feet.

 

This is a Model SCM-5 cover made by Fairfield Industries of Georgetown, South Carolina.  It is part of a spill containment manhole that contains any spills that may happen while filling underground storage tanks. 

 

Seen to the left is a 5 x 'lots of holes' cover for a rain drainage system.

 

 

 

Across the great divide

This seamy scene was seen in the street beneath our feet. 

 

Crack and seam

The sidewalk seam did not prevent the crack from spreading; it just moved over a bit and continued. 

 

International tomato

Sold off the pallet

The tomatoes are from Guatemala, the company is in Kingsville, ON, they are on sale at a store in Queens (New York City), the weight is one and one-half pounds, the price is ninety nine cents per box, the sign is a classic.
