Lock stuck |
No doubt this lock fell off the back of a truck when it hit a bump in the road. By happenstance, it fell into an crack in the road. The passing wheeled traffic pressed it into the summer heat softened asphalt, embedding it firmly in the road where it stays, stuck.

ReplyDeleteThings like that, embedded into the street asphalt, make me think of the La Brea tar pits.
ReplyDeleteYou are tempting me to go over there and see if it can be dug out of its asphaltic repose.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the beer and soda bottle caps embedded in this asphalt on 136th and Harlem back in the 70s
ReplyDeleteI will keep an eye out for those!
