Holey covers

Sewer cover 1

Sewer cover 2

Two rubber-buffed multi-holed manhole covers seen on the street beneath our feet.  Both have the same triangular hole pattern around the perimeter, but the lifting notches are in different locations.  The notch on the second one looks to be in the correct position.

Another 26 hole cover can be seen here.

Newly paved

Newly striped road

Sunlight glistens off the newly paved road with its fresh striping.  Part of the "the street beneath our feet" series.

Sidelit bag

Crumpled bag

The strong sunlight reflected from the building across the street offers a wonderful sidelight and a play of shadows and light across this carefully closed white paper bag  that had been carelessly tossed on the sidewalk.

Cover up art

Cover up, No. 1

Cover up, No. 2

Graffiti is often covered up with paints that are supposed to match the background.  This itself creates new images.

Custom cars in the rain

Mercury Meteor in a relaxed view 3d

Mercury Meteor taillights

This 1963 Mercury Meteor has been wonderfully restored.  The styling for the tail lights is superb.

GMC 3100 Series pickup truck

This 1954 GMC Series 3100 pickup truck has been nicely worked.  The raindrops just make it look better.

Bronze caps

Bronze cap, No. 1

Bronze cap, No. 2

Two bronze caps, both very bright.  These are probably covers for underground fuel oil tanks.  One looks very worn.  The other seemingly has not been touched in a while, as seen by the weeds growing around it.

Grate and cover

Water access cover

Sewer grate
These two covers keep us safe while we are on the street beneath our feet.

Common tiger lily

Common tiger lily, No. 1

Common tiger lily, No. 2
Although these are called 'common tiger lilies', they are quite spectacular.  The morning dew droplets add to their beauty.  These grow where they want, as they are wild.
