Snooze in the shade

What struck me about this man, seated in the shade on a cement block or two, snoozing away in the afternoon heat, was that his rosy complexion matched the color of his pants.

The NO PARKING marker is painted using a stencil.

The guidelines will eventually not be visible but the pavement markers will remain in the parking lot beneath our feet.

Worn down gas test

The high vehicular traffic has worn down the lettering on this utility cover.  What remains of the cover design indicates that it is a gas test cover.

Seen in the street beneath our feet, this "GAS TEST BINGHAM TAYLOR" cover utilizes a sans serif font to indicate the function of the cover and its maker.

Third time

Try three times

"The third time's the charm", as the saying goes.  So it was with this street sign post, which was placed in the correct position on the third try.

Munching on mullein

Common mullein (Verbascum thapsus) 

The seeds and flowers of the common mullein (Verbascum thapsus) are a favorite food of the Mullein Seed-eating Weevil (Gymnetron tetrum).
