The metal newspaper box outside the former candy store had been removed a long time ago. Traces of its presence remain: the four bolts that anchored the box to the sidewalk, and, the less worn and lighter shaded sidewalk concrete beneath the box.
That is interesting how the sidewalk is or is not worn away and dirtied depending on it being covered.
